Welcome to Hotel Higland
Hotel Higland is open during the 2010 summer season from June 15 to September 15.
The hotel is available on a year-round basis for groups and special events.
Hotel Highland is situated at the edge of the country´s most impressive and active volcanic area. From here it is a short distance to many of the most beautiful and popular tourist attractions in the highlands.
The area is teeming with great sites for adventure and is the perfect base for visiting as many of them as time allows. It also has a great location to try out all the activities the region has to offer. Trout and char fishing in this pristine area is world-class and it has still barely been discovered by guests from outside Iceland. Hiking is the main reason for travelers to visit. We understand this and why they choose this stunningly remote yet easily accesible location - once known to be a hideaway for outlaws and full of tales describing hidden people, trolls and other supernatural entities.
The hotel is easily reached (almost without exception) by paved road all year round. The vastness and lack of human impact on the surrounding area makes it truly one of the last places in Europe where freedom, natural beauty and solitude are combined in a breathtakingly powerful experience. Both hotels are operated, marketed and managed by the four-star property Hótel Rangá outside Hella. They also operate The Highland Center Hrauneyjar (Hálendismiđstöđin) and Hotel Skógar in Skógar. The Hotel is open from June 15 to September 15 for individuals and all year for groups.
